The Odesa Regional Center of Ukrainian Culture is a regional enterprise based on the communal property of the territorial communities, villages, towns, and cities of the region. It creates conditions for the preservation and development of Ukrainian culture and the cultures of national minorities residing in the region. The center supports the revival of traditional folk art centers, folk-ethnographic ensembles, and artisanal crafts, while also providing methodological, scientific, and organizational assistance to cultural institutions, amateur groups, and their participants. It studies, summarizes, and disseminates progressive forms of folk art and cultural-leisure activities.
The main objectives of the ORCUC include participating in the implementation of Ukraine’s state policy in the development of Ukrainian culture and the cultures of national minorities, in the sphere of folk art and cultural-leisure activities; promoting the revival, preservation, and development of the multi-ethnic cultural traditions of the Odesa region; providing informational and methodological support to cultural institutions and other interested organizations, public formations, and individuals in the field of cultural-leisure activities and folk art; and establishing and strengthening cultural ties with regions of Ukraine and foreign countries.
